Environmental Policy

We at Fast Transport Services are fully aware of the impact our services has on the environment and we endeavour to minimise our consumption of natural resources and energy.

We are committed to ensuring that the environmental issues as well as environmental awareness are of paramount importance to our business practices. Our environmental policy focuses upon adhering to all necessary steps in compliance with environmental legislation.

• Investing in the development of new products and processes that have an improved performance regarding their impact on the environment.
• Complying with environmental legislation
• Ensuring all waste is disposed of in a safe and responsible manner
• Minimise the consumption of natural resources and energy and consuming material goods in moderation
• Recycle all our consumables from the offices including paper, cardboard, plastic and cartridges
• Utilising space in our vehicles to maximise the space used and reduce the amount of vehicles available
• Recycle waste at accredited waste management sites
• Donate surplus stock to locally based charities
• Redistribute stock to local businesses
• Plan routes efficiently to minimise the distance travelled for each project as well as developing operational procedures to prevent pollution
• Provide information and training to employees and clients to raise awareness and encourage their involvement in developing environmental improvements
• Re-use packing materials, use blankets instead of paper
• Email literature as often as possible
• Ensure vehicles are designed, maintained and driven to maximise fuel efficiency and reduce emissions
• Donate all cartridges to BIBIC (the British Institute for Brain Injured Children)
• PC equipment that is surplus to requirement will be donated to suitable charities for training and development

Our collective task is to ensure that we continually improve the environmental impact of our total activities. Our people are trained and motivated to behave in an environmentally responsible manner throughout their everyday activities.

By this policy Fast Transport recognises its responsibility towards protection of the environment, and issues this statement as a commitment of both management and employees to minimising the environmental impact of its operations.

This policy is on-going and ever changing and we aim to always be ahead of Government policies and procedures.
